The chat box puts your Twitch chat on your overlay. No extra login, no third-party URL: it reads the same chat StreamWizard already sees.

Add it

In the overlay editor: Widgets → Alerts & chat → Chat box. Drag it where you want it and resize it. The box is the area chat fills; older messages drop off the edge.

See it before you go live

An empty chat box shows a hint on the canvas. To fill it:
  • Click Demo, then start Chat messages under Simulate. Fake chatters keep talking until you stop it.
  • Or hit Send a test message at the bottom of the chat box settings.
  • Or just type in your own Twitch chat. Real messages show up in the editor too.

Look

Pick a starting look, then tweak it:
  • Plain: text straight on your stream, with a shadow so it stays readable.
  • Bubbles: each message on its own rounded background.
  • Card: name on top, message below, full width.
Then set the font, size, text color, and whether names use each chatter’s Twitch color or one color for everyone. Bubbles and Card also get a background color, opacity, and corner radius.

Messages

  • Layout: vertical (a normal chat column) or horizontal (one line per message, side by side, like a ticker). Switching to horizontal shrinks the box to one row and keeps its bottom edge where it was; switching back restores a normal column. To make the strip longer, change Frame width under Advanced, then Scale & crop. Dragging the corners scales the whole box, text included.
  • Newest message: at the bottom (like Twitch) or at the top. In horizontal layout: on the right or on the left.
  • Max on screen: how many messages stay up at once.
  • Fade out: messages disappear after this many seconds. Off keeps them up until newer ones push them out.
  • Animate in: fade, slide up, slide from either side, pop, or none.
  • Animate out: fade, slide away, shrink, or none. Plays when a message fades out, so turn on Fade out to use it.
  • Slide messages along: when a new message comes in, the others glide to their new spot instead of jumping. On by default.
  • Badges and profile pictures: on or off.

What gets hidden

  • !commands are hidden by default, so !uptime spam stays off stream.
  • Bots: StreamWizardBot, Nightbot, StreamElements, Streamlabs, Moobot, Fossabot, WizeBot and Sery_Bot are hidden out of the box. Add or remove usernames, one per line.
  • Deleted messages disappear from the overlay the moment a mod deletes them. Timeouts and bans remove that chatter’s messages, and clearing chat clears the box.

Subs, raids and announcements

Twitch posts subs, resubs, gift subs, raids and announcements in chat. Each type has its own switch, so you can keep raids and drop the rest. Notices relayed from another channel during shared chat never show.

Emotes

Twitch emotes and cheermotes always work. Your channel’s 7TV, BTTV and FFZ sets load too, and you can switch each provider off.
